Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed
Ahmed Siyam Mohamed (; born 21 July 1969), often referred to as Sun Siyam, is an Maldivian politician and businessman who has been serving as a Member of the People's Majlis for Dhaalu Meedhoo Constituency since 2014 in the 18th, 19th and 20th Parliament. Siyam is also the founder and leader of Maldives Development Alliance. Further, he is the founder and chairman of Sun Siyam Resorts, chairman and managing director of Sun News as well as Sun Siyam TV SSTV or ''Sun Siyam TV'' is the private service broadcasting TV channel of the Maldives. People's Majlis
The People's Majlis () is the unicameral legislative body of Maldives. It has the authority to enact, amend and revise laws, as outlined in the Constitution of the Maldives. It is composed of 93 members as of 2024. Each year on the first Monday or Thursday of February, the Majlis is opened by the President of the Maldives. During the opening of ceremony, the president outlines his policies and achievements in his presidential term. The annual state budget is decided here. Its working language is Dhivehi. Meedhoo (Dhaalu Atoll)
Meedhoo ( Dhivehi: މީދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of Dhaalu Atoll. Geography Meedhoo is an island in Dhaalu Atoll. It is the northernmost inhabited island in the Dhaalu Atoll. The island is closer to Nilandhoo, than to Kudahuvadhoo, the capital of the atoll. The island is southwest of the country's capital, Malé. A land reclamation project was initiated in 2014, with the dredging contract awarded to Boskalis to add of land to the island of Meedhoo. Demography Economy The main economical work done in the island is fishing. However construction is developing rapidly as people have started to erect storied houses due to lack of land in the island. In addition some people have been working in nearby tourist resorts since tourism was introduced in the atoll in 1998. Dhaalu Atoll
Dhaalu Atoll (also known as Southern Nilandhe Atoll or , ) is one of the atolls of the Maldives. It corresponds to the natural atoll of the same name. Geography Dhaalu Atoll stretches 23 km (14 mi) from east to west, and 38 km (24 mi) north to south. Out of a total of 56 islands in the atoll, seven of the islands are inhabited, with a total population of around 6694. The capital island is Kudahuvadhoo, located at the atoll's southern tip.
